Once upon a time (in 2007) Butter Media introduced Butter Photobooth – a portable photo booth machine that had since then provided fun to thousands of events, broke barriers for awards, we captured millions of silly fun. As a photographer; however, what I really appreciated was the interaction with guests and opportunity to throw out different ideas and capture the personality of each of them. So after some time, we had moved on from the photo booth (machines) and moved it to a partner service while we switched gears and continue to directly offer our portrait station service. Sometimes a beautifully-designed setting/background was provided by the event decorator, other times one of our high end backdrops would be selected, and also quite popular was our black and white portrait station. We have had periods where we offered Flipbooks, Slow-Mo Booths, Instagram Kiosks, Green Screen Stations. Call it trends, call it hype, but let’s be real , all of the above offers fun, creativity and a fantastic way to remember an event you attended (or created). When I asked myself what is my favourite setup? The answer ultimately came back to me, my camera, a plain backdrop and the person in front of me. Take out the environment noise, no special effects, zone into the moment and let’s see what you and I can create in a few seconds. Priceless.

SPLASH | Arts Umbrella | Black & White Portraits

It’s our 3rd year back to add to the fun of SPLASH, art auction held by the Arts Umbrella and at the legendary Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Amazingly lovely event at Waterview Venue Vancouver for Culinary Capers Catering’s Spring/Summer Menu celebration event. With the drinks flowing (by our favourite Lavish Liquids Bar) and photo-entertainment provided by yours truly, guests enjoyed tasty delights provided by CCC and mingled in front of a gorgeous waterfront view of the best city in the world. Looking forward to working with the team even more this year!

Richards Models Xmas Open House

Ho! Ho! Ho! Oh wait it’s 2019 now… Happy New Year! After a smoking busy holiday season, we finally have a chance to take a look at our site and do a bit of up keeping! There were so many memorable and fun events that we had the opportunity to photograph, video and of course, our super popular Black & White Portrait Station. This was definitely a hit this holiday season and what a way to add a little classy fun to your event! The Richards International Talent Agency was a fun one that we decided to wrap up the season with. We have had the pleasure to work with the agency and their models on many occasions in the past few years so I thought it would be fun to capture their team in a non-work event! Always a pleasure working with the very professional and sweet team at the BC Cancer Agency. We’re extra honoured that they book us for their main events every year. This year’s Hope Couture event was a blast. From fashion shows to our wicked portrait station. Our instant print portrait station combined with their extended Greek ruins backdrop and human statue from Paintertainment made for an amazing entertainment feature area for the guests! We are back for scholarship day at the Providence Health booth! Good times with the medical staff and students. Prior to the awards, we are located at the Providence Health booth in the trade show area. Guests that popped by got to experience our photo station and get a print to take home as a keepsake. Always good fun with a good group!
