Absolutely one of the best organizing and planning teams is the CPHR BC & Yukon team. They always put the best for their guests at everyone of their events and amazingly, it is always on time! Definitely makes our job covering their events so smooth. Although, we are always ready for the unexpected at any event ;). Glad to be back for their annual awards dinner recognizing some of the best in the human resource arena in BC and the Yukon. And of course, always great to be photographing at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, Vancouver. Thank you for having us back. Here is a snippet of the fun that night!

Coquitlam & Port Coquitlam Firefighter presents: The Annual Mayors’ Ball

It was an honour to be invited back to capture the fun at the Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam Firefighters’ Mayors’ Ball. From the event entertainment to the fundraising activities, this is always a fun one to capture. A masquerade ball theme was embraced by the guests this year and of course, planned and executed by the amazing team at Spotlight Events is the icing on the cake. Check it out!

ROUGE Station

Once upon a time (in 2007) Butter Media introduced Butter Photobooth – a portable photo booth machine that had since then provided fun to thousands of events, broke barriers for awards, we captured millions of silly fun. As a photographer; however, what I really appreciated was the interaction with guests and opportunity to throw out different ideas and capture the personality of each of them. So after some time, we had moved on from the photo booth (machines) and moved it to a partner service while we switched gears and continue to directly offer our portrait station service. Sometimes a beautifully-designed setting/background was provided by the event decorator, other times one of our high end backdrops would be selected, and also quite popular was our black and white portrait station. We have had periods where we offered Flipbooks, Slow-Mo Booths, Instagram Kiosks, Green Screen Stations. Call it trends, call it hype, but let’s be real , all of the above offers fun, creativity and a fantastic way to remember an event you attended (or created). When I asked myself what is my favourite setup? The answer ultimately came back to me, my camera, a plain backdrop and the person in front of me. Take out the environment noise, no special effects, zone into the moment and let’s see what you and I can create in a few seconds. Priceless.

Back again for another edition of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence Awards where our local businesses and not-for-profit organizations are recognized for their outstanding work. As always, “The Chamber” representing Tri-Cities (Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam) brings it strong with an amazing gala full of fun including roaming robots, fantastic music provided by DJ Skyline and a 360 Video Booth! Speaker Demo Reel Video – Yat Li

We met Yat Li during one of his past roles helping people with disabilities integrate into the workforce and also help companies adapt to increase inclusivity in their workplace and not miss out on hiring opportunities. When scheduled to speak for a Greater Vancouver Board of Trade event, he had commissioned us to film his speech and participation in the event and put together this demo reel for him. It was so great to work with him on this project but equally amazing to hear what he has to say about workplace inclusivity and diversity. We love working with small businesses and helping them create content and as many people know, we also do a lot of work with the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.
