We are so thankful to have longtime clients like the BC Cancer Foundation. As the event industry was hit hard during the past year and a half, I am so amazed and inspired by the amazing event/fundraising teams at great not-for-profit foundations like BC Cancer’s. For this year’s Inspiration Gala, typically an amazing in-person gala, virtual was the way to go. But that didn’t stop the BCCF team from delivering the fun to each of the guest’s home. This included a fantastic gift box filled with drinks and goodies so that each guest could enjoy a few bites, sips, and even smells (from the candle) while watching the gala unfold! The team destroyed their fundraising goal for the event and raised $8.2 Million dollars! Easily a record for any fundraiser in Metro Vancouver as far as I know! Congratulations the such an awesome foundation and we are grateful for your services to those affected by this disease.
The Inspiration Gala is a fun and beautiful annual gala that is normally held at the historic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person galas had to be put on hold. While this was a bit of a disappointment for our team since we love being a part of so many great foundations’ fundraising events, capturing them, and seeing all of the familiar faces, we do understand and support putting everyone’s health first. On the flip side, we have been so intrigued and impressed by each foundation’s ability to creatively execute virtual and hybrid events in lieu of the in-person receptions. Hosts, entertainers, and special guests streamed their segments from offsite locations and committee members hosted viewing parties with smaller groups. From the photography aspect, we treated it as we would have for a 500 person gala. Our approach was the same – capture the details and the moments. As always, we are thankful for the BC Cancer Foundation for commissioning us to cover this event and freeze the moments in time.
